OnePlus Open first foldable smartphone with a 120Hz refresh rate display

OnePlus teased its first foldable smartphone during the TechCrunch Disrupt 2023 event. OnePlus is also washing its hands in the river of foldable phones although we do not know about the future of these foldable phones, every single company is diving into this river to get more attention from tech geeks around the world.

While the official moniker remains covered in mystery, the device is temporarily known as the OnePlus Open. It is promising to deliver a groundbreaking experience that no other company is offering. Although we all know that OnePlus is known for its reliability and premium gadgets like the most popular company Apple. We have to see how this company is making its foldable smartphone different from others. Some of the leaks suggest the launch date of October 19, 2023, whereas it is not confirmed officially by OnePlus.

For powering this performance OnePlus Open is powered by Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC chipset that also includes 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The OnePlus Open is anticipated to support an outward folding design, it is likely to be as Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold series, Google's Pixel Fold, and Vivo's X Fold 2. It might make its entrance from the Chinese market before the global launch, including Indian markets.

The company will launch this foldable smartphone for under Rs. 1,20,000 in India, which might be higher.

OnePlus Open Unofficial Specification and Features

The OnePlus Open is expecting to have Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC which is coupled with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The specs that we are getting from various leaks are amazing compared to other brands or foldable smartphones.

It carries a 7.8-inch 2K AMOLED inner display and a 6.3-inch AMOLED outer display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth operations and gaming experience.

It carries a triple rear camera setup where a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a secondary 48-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens, and a third 32-megapixel sensor with a periscope lens.

Whereas for selfies this foldable phone carries two 32-megapixel front camera sensors.

The rest of the features are not been leaked or officially announced we have to wait till 19th October, as we are expecting, it might take more days.
