Updated: July 11, 2024 21:53

Microsoft has finally announced the launch date for its Copilot for Security. This AI-powered chatbot is dedicated to cybersecurity because it's the main consent for the users. Designed to safeguard enterprises and organizations from security breaches and hacking attempts, the ‘Copilot for Security’ is a significant innovation by Microsoft. Initially announced in March 2023, Microsoft is now set to make it publicly available after a year of development. This platform works in Copilot chatbots, enabling users to pose security-related questions, as well as carry out threat analyses and investigations.

In a recent blog post, Microsoft announced the global launch of ‘Copilot for Security’ scheduled for the beginning of the next month in April. Copilot is powered by comprehensive data and threat intelligence, processing over 78 trillion security signals daily. This vast data is combined with advanced language models to provide customized insights and recommend subsequent actions.

The ‘Copilot for Security’ is equipped with multilingual capabilities, which extends support to 25 distinct languages. Microsoft claims that the linguistic support is sufficiently diverse to accommodate major regions spanning North and South America, Europe, and Asia. This AI platform is driven by OpenAI’s GPT-4 and Microsoft’s proprietary security models. Emulating the functionality of other Copilot chatbots, it accepts inputs in natural language.

The chatbot will be accessible in two different formats a standalone portal and a security module that can be seamlessly integrated into an organization’s pre-existing security infrastructure. The platform is engineered to function as an assistant, enabling human collaboration. Cybersecurity experts can input their queries, request vulnerability summaries, submit files, URLs, and codes for threat analysis, and even instigate investigations about specific incidents.

Microsoft’s AI platform has been enhanced with new features. It now provides the ability for users to create and store their own sequence of natural language prompts for routine security tasks using custom promptbooks. This platform also facilitates integration with pre-existing business knowledge bases and logic systems. Furthermore, the chatbot offers supplementary insights for security investigations or IT issue analyses by examining audit logs relevant to a particular user or event.

Talking about the price the company Microsoft has announced that its Copilot for Security will operate on a pay-as-you-go basis. This means that organizations will only be charged based on the number of tasks executed using the AI. The billing for this service will occur on a monthly cycle, with a minimum fee of $4 (approximately Rs. 331) applied for each hour of usage.
